Restoration of violins, violas and cellos
I perfected the art of violin, viola and cello restoration by working for several years with a follower of the prestigious New York workshop of Jacques Francais, famous for the most precious antique instruments. There I acquired skills on the invisible details that influence tonal quality, such as the chain, the core, the bridge and the grinding of the fingerboard, which often requires re-planing after years of use. Each shape and choice of materials of these components determine the comfort and sound of the instrument.
My experience as a high-level musician, before becoming a luthier, allows me to make precise and informed decisions on necessary modifications. I work closely with musicians to make customizations that perfectly match their tastes, ensuring clear communication and an optimal result.
